So, you’ve found yourself in a trial with The Pig in Dead by Daylight, and instead of running for your life, you think—maybe she just needs a little love. Good news! It is possible to tame The Pig, but only if you follow the right steps. This guide will walk you through the process of befriending this Jigsaw-inspired killer and enjoying the unique interactions she can offer.
Understanding The Pig’s Playstyle
Before you can tame a Pig, you need to understand what kind of Pig you’re dealing with. Not all Pigs are the same! There are three main types you might encounter:
1. The Stealthy Stalker Pig 💀
- Loves to crouch and sneak up behind survivors to give them a real scare.
- Most likely a fan of horror movies and intense mind games.
- Taming Difficulty: High (paranoia levels are strong).
2. The Trap-Happy Pig 🔪
- Won’t chase much—just slaps Reverse Bear Traps (RBTs) on survivors and walks away.
- Thinks Saw traps are peak gameplay mechanics.
- Taming Difficulty: Moderate (as long as you don’t ruin her fun).
3. The Friendly Baby Pig 🐷
- Bobs her head, crouches openly, and generally gives hugs instead of slashes.
- Only plays Pig because they love the Saw franchise.
- Taming Difficulty: Easy (they’re already tame!).
Step 1: Approach With Caution
Like any killer, The Pig can be startled easily. You don’t want to trigger Ambush Mode accidentally, so follow these guidelines:
- Do NOT run at her. Sprinting toward The Pig is a surefire way to get yourself ambushed. Instead, crouch or walk slowly to show that you’re peaceful.
- Offer a gift. Drop an item like a medkit, toolbox, or flashlight in front of her. If she accepts it, you’ve made the first step! If she slashes you—well, at least you tried.
- Initiate the Sacred Head Bob. Rapidly crouching up and down signals peace in Dead by Daylight. If she bobs her head back, congratulations—you’ve established communication!
Step 2: Play the Long Game
Befriending The Pig isn’t an instant process; you must prove your worth. Here’s how:
✅ Let her hook you first.
- This demonstrates your trust. If she picks you up and wiggles without hooking, she’s testing your loyalty.
✅ Boop her snout whenever she allows it.
- Some Pigs love snout boops. However, be warned—some don’t.
✅ Don’t rush to remove your Reverse Bear Trap.
- Play along with the trap mechanic instead of dashing toward a Jigsaw Box immediately. Give her the satisfaction of her craft.
✅ Subtly help her track down disrespectful teammates.
- If you see a survivor ignoring the Sacred Head Bob, subtly lead The Pig in their direction (without full-blown betrayal).
Step 3: Enjoy Your New Friendship
If you’ve followed all the right steps, congrats! You now have a friendly Pig who:
✔️ Won’t tunnel you into oblivion.
✔️ Might let you escape at the end.
✔️ Will head bob and vibe with you instead of slashing you to death.
That said, beware… Some Pigs are beyond taming. If she suddenly turns aggressive, you may have misjudged her intentions. After all, she does live by Jigsaw’s rule: Live or die, make your choice.
Step 4: Follow The Pig’s Rulebook
Tamed or not, The Pig follows rules of her own. Keep these in mind:
🐷 Rule #1: If she starts crawling toward you in stealth mode, don’t panic. It might just mean she’s having fun with the mind games.
💖 Rule #2: If she puts a Reverse Bear Trap on you, congratulations—you are now part of her Saw experiment. Just roll with it.
💀 Rule #3: If she lets you escape, cherish the moment. Not all killers are so kind. If she stabs you at the exit gate instead… well, you played yourself.
🤝 Rule #4: If she head bobs and you respond in kind, you’re now legally obligated to be best friends. These are the Dead by Daylight rules.
Now go forth, Survivors! May your matches be free from tunnelers and full of adorable Pig interactions.
